Honduras La Joya Natural
In our second year buying coffee from Tony Castro as Finca La Joya we are proud to announce this natural coffee has scored an astounding score of 90 points with coffee review making it one of the most unique Honduran coffees in the country. This national recognition of top tier coffees is what drives our coffee passion.
Coffee Review: 90 points
Blind Assessment: Fruit-toned, chocolaty. Dark chocolate, dried raspberry, cedar, molasses, lily in aroma and cup. Sweet-tart structure with mild, accessible acidity; satiny-smooth mouthfeel. The fruit-toned finish is supported by notes of dark chocolate and cedar.
Notes: Produced by Tony Castro of Finca La Joya entirely of the Paraneima variety of Arabica and processed by the natural method. RamsHead Coffee Roasters is a family-owned company founded by Bozeman, Montana natives Caleb and Laura Walker. RamsHead specializes in direct trade, microlot coffees. The Bottom Line : The dried-in-the-fruit, natural processing makes this coffee atypical for Honduras. Here it encourages a range of dried fruit flavors. Sales of this coffee help support a local girls’ orphanage at origin.
