Details

This amazing coffee has been aged in Bourbon Barrels for 14 days prior to roasting from our friends at Dry Hills Distillery in Bozeman Montana. After aging for this time, the coffee absorbs the aroma and flavor profiles of the bourbon, producing a highly bourbon flavored coffee. Accompanied by notes of oak, and dark chocolate malts, this smokey bourbon coffee is the perfect night cap for your Holiday Celebrations or for a gift.

Please note, this coffees does not contain alcohol, but has simply been classically aged in freshly dumped bourbon barrels.

We have limited run of this coffee due to the time intensity of the aging process.

COFFEE BACKGROUND

Nariño is a small department on the corner of Colombia that borders Ecuador and the Pacific Ocean. The region sits just a hair above the equator, and some of the high- est-grown coffee in the world is found here. The towering altitude, framed by warm days and cool nights, is the per- fect environment for slow coffee maturation and concen- trated sugar development in coffee cherries.

This coffee from Juanambú Canyon was sourced in partner- ship with Lohas Beans.. The lush canyon and idyllic green landscape around the region are influenced by six volca- noes, enriching the soil with minerals that supplement the growth of the unique coffees found here. Producers in Nar- iño are smallholders, often with tiny plots of less than one to two hectares that dot the steep terrain in remote locations.

This microlot drew select coffee from 123 smallholders in the Buesaco and Arboleda Berruecos municipalities on land that spans 1700 to 2200 masl. Their livelihoods are de- pendent on agriculture, and annual coffee harvests play a significant role in Nariño’s economic activity. That’s why farmers here are heavily invested in improving quality and yield, so that they can harness the full potential of this stel- lar region.
